In conjunction with the release of String Quartet Live!, Kishi Bashi is launching a special contest for student orchestras around the country. He's made the sheet music for all nine tracks on String Quartet Live! available for download via Bandcamp, and orchestras from anywhere in the country are encouraged to learn two songs of their choosing (international schools are welcome to submit for future consideration but unfortunately cannot be considered at this time). Orchestras should submit two songs, 1 slow and 1 fast (adding their own interpretations if they'd like) and submit a video of their group performing each by uploading it to YouTube with the hashtag #KishiSpringFling. The winning orchestra will have Kishi Bashi perform live at their Spring 2016 concert, plus D’Addario will outfit your orchestra with strings and accessories! First and second runner up prizes provided by D'Addario.

Here's what we need from you:

-Go to Bandcamp, and download the new String Quartet Live! album which will give you access to the sheet music (listed as "bonus material")

-Choose 2 songs to perform (preferably 1 slow, and 1 fast tempo). You do not need to play them verbatim - they are open for interpretation

-Send a brief blurb (video or email) about yourself, and school to kishibashispringfling@gmail.com: Who are you? Why are you excited to perform this music? Why do you want Kishi Bashi to come to your school?

-Record (iPhone video is fine) the 2 songs, upload to YouTube, and use the hashtag #KishiSpringFling

-Kishi Bashi will announce the winner, and arrange with your school to perform at your spring concert

The deadline is February 22nd, 2016, so be sure to submit by then!
